About the Director:

Laef O’Neill Fox was born into a large family on September 3, 1979, in Lancaster, Ohio. His mother and father were farmers who lived by a strong work ethic and kindness to others in the community. Growing up on the family farm taught Laef the value of a dollar and a hard-day’s work. He fell in love with the arts and film at a very young age; his career as a filmmaker began when he and his childhood friends would create home movies while their parents were at work.

On September 11, 1997 at the age of 18, Laef joined the United States Army, and served on active duty for six years, five months of which were spent in Iraq. Upon his honorable discharge in, 2003, Laef moved to Denver, Colorado to study at the Art Institute of Colorado and pursue his love for filmmaking. One year later, Drifter Entertainment was founded and the production of Changing Us began. With one film “in the can” preproduction is currently underway on the company’s second film, "My Brother’s Revolution".

The first screening of "Changing Us" is slated for July 4, 2008. Laef’s future includes completing his filmmaking degree, working on his films, and embracing what may come with great optimism.

 

Soldiers Biographies:

SGT HARP:

SGT Harp served the United States Army for eight years. He now works as a materials manager for a hospital and hopes to soon be gaining employment with the U.S. Border Patrol. SGT Harp presently lives in Choctaw, Oklahoma with his wife Jamie, and two sons Jacob and Jesse.

 

SFC (Ret.) BENNETT:

SFC (Ret.) Bennett served the United States Army for twenty years before retiring. He is currently self-employed and "seriously enjoying his retirement."
SFC (Ret.) Bennett lives in Hephzibah, Georgia with wife Carla, daughter Kiara, and their two sons DonDeagio and Branden.

 

SSG WILLIAMS:

SSG Williams served the United States Army for eight years. He is currently a SGT Deputy Sheriff for the Johnson County Sheriff's Office, where he is a member of the Swat Team and Bomb Squad. SSG Williams lives in Oxford, Iowa with his wife Jessi, daughter Kyla, and son Dylan.

 

SGT BODWAY:

SGT Bodway served the United States Army for six years. At the moment, SGT Bodway is a police officer in Precinct 11, of the Baltimore County Police Department. SGT Bodway lives in Abingdon, Maryland.

 

SPC WHITACRE:

SPC Whitacre served in the United States Army for five years. He is currently employed as Fire Sprinkler System Technician. SPC Whitacre now lives in Ames, Iowa.

 

PFC RIOS:

PFC Rios has served the United States Army for five years and counting. He is still employed by the Army as a Military Policeman. The last time PFC Rios was located he was on his second tour in Iraq.

 

PFC STREITTMATTER:

PFC Streittmatter served the United States Army for five years. PFC Streittmatter lives in Bellevue, Nebraska.

 

SPC GARZA:

SPC Garza served the United States Army for six years. SPC Garza's whereabouts and information are unknown.
